rough idle

I recently purchased a 2000 Explorer Limited with the 4.0 SOHC. I've noticed that the idle seems to be acting up a little. When I come to a stop, the vehicle feels like the engine is bogging down when the idle reaches between 500 and 1000. When it stops, it sometimes goes away and sometimes doesn't. If I stop very slowly, it doesn't do it at all. It sometimes idles a little rough just sitting also, but not always. I've read some of the other posts and was wondering if this is the same issue that others had when the MAF sensor and IEC valve (I think that was right) needed cleaning. Thanks.

check your air filter and your throttle body maybe?

Air filter is brand new. I took a quick look yesterday. Haven't checked the throttle body yet though.

runs rough at idle some times? your ignition wires could be starting to fail
