your air bag warining light is inop - this is a safety feature to let you know theres a problem when the system can't light the bulb properly

yes, the air bag lamp does not light. I will try replacing the lamp and get back with a report.

I replaced the indicator lamp and the beeps have stopped "GOOD."
now the air bag lamp comes on 3 time and then 6 times and repeats.
At least i can live with that!
Thank you so very much!

flash code 36 is for the pass. side impact air bag circuit - there is an updated harness for this problem - if you have side impact bags the job is a pain in the rear - but if you don't actualy have side bags the replacement harness takes about 5min. to install

thanks for the expert help,
after replacing the front wheel bearing $175 i was able to check out the airbag wiring harness. i used your advice and search under the back of front seats and found two yellow connectors. i unpluged them and reseated them a couple of times and "wa law" the airbag lamp did not come on. man now i feel good about paying $6500 for this 1999 mountaineer. now if only i could get the fix sheets on the radio display it would be running at 100%.
just another useful site

The radio fix can be had at http://www.shareamemory.com/radio for the low price of $20. That will be the best $20 you ever spent.
