hey guys...gotta question
the suspension in my 89 is totally shot. it literally feels more like a boat than a car when i drive it down the road. my question is, what do i need to replace. i dont know much about suspension setups at all. should i just replace the shocks and struts and call it good? or should i go with coilovers. do coilovers work in conjunction with the shocks and struts, or do they replace them entirely?
i want a pretty robust system when it is all said and done...something that will destroy the twisties.
thanks

if you have the spare cash, go for coilovers. i suggest tein HE or SPL coilovers...
but if youre not planning on drifting and auto-x everyday and just want nice sporty daily driven suspension, you cant go wrong with some eibach springs and KYB shocks.

if it were me (already did full cusco setup for my 240) cusco coilovers (zero-2's) swaybars and tower bars if not there full lineup for your car
(if you go this way get ready to spend a few G's)

Since you obviously know nothing, go see a shop and ask them, they will be installing the setup anyways.

Advice though, dont go cheap on your stiff stuff. Save the cash and do it right the first time. Coilovers Tein HEs for me please.

thanks for the advise guys
i def. wont be going cheap on the suspension...im think about prolly throwing about 1.5k at it. that should leave enough cash left over for a new engine hopefully.

....and its not that i know "nothing"...its obviously more helpful to me to ask people who supposedly know "something". ive never done any high performance modifications on a car before...just basic maintanence and the like.
but anywho, thanks for the help peoples.

Please donate your 240SX to the needy... or simply heed to what Logikal1 told you to do. Don't try to drift your 240 either 'cus you obviously know jack-shit and if I have to witness another smashed up 240SX... crashed by another 'tard jumping the 'wagon... I'm gonna scream hysterically!

They're right... just go give a tuning shop a blank check and tell them to make it handle like it was on rails...
but if you really want to know whats wrong... its the headlight fluid, it weighs a ton and its blowing your shocks faster - get rid of it. you'll need this www.Headlightfluidremovalkit.com

alright back on topic, coilovers replace the springs + shock entirely. What I bought was D2 coilovers (k-sport brand in US) and tanabe front-and-back strut tower braces, my car handles like a dream. If you want to get in a group buy on these coilovers, e-mail me at [email protected]. I know a friend that's going to hold a group buy on them for real cheap, maybe pay $800 for a set. These coilovers are great also, great quality and ride. Definetly better than just replacing your stock springs/shocks
