ASE chip

I have a 2003 Alero coupe, and I have been interested in getting some type of chip for my car to give it a little more performance. However, I would like to find one that will make my speed limiter go up, and allow the car to use all of its potential. I looked at the jet chip and it will not change your limiter. I've tried to look into the ase chips but their web site is under construction, and I was just wondering if anyone knew if their chip will make the speed limiter go away or atleast move it up. So if anyone could help it would be greatly appriciated.

I found a great chip! cant remember the link though but I will find it and post it for you. It bumps your redline up 500rpm firms the shifts and kills the limiter. Only downside is that they want you to send them the pcm and they install it so that means down time

Thanks I would reall appreciate it. If what you are saying about this chip is true it sounds like its just what I'm looking for. Taking out the pcm and giving it to them should be no problem since I will be away to college in the fall and the car will be sitting around more than usual anyway. So when you find the link just let me know.

Why would you want to raise the redline. Valve float starts around 6000 RPM. Amything over that you risk hurting your motor. And why would you want to raise the speed limiter? I can see i now you go to hit the brakes going 120 and your pads just melt because your going too fast. Gm engineered the tranny, brakes, cv joints and everything related to them thinking that it isn't going over 106 MPH. I suggest that if you do raise you speed limiter that you upgrade all those other parts otherwise your a danger to yourself and everyone else on the road. And if you really feel the need to raise your redline I suggest getting some LS1 valve springs put on because they are much stronger and will let you rev that high without valve float.

With the transmission shifting at 500 rpm above your stock redline, won't that cause damage to it? Plus, how often will you really be going over 106 mph? I know that you WANT that (I'm your age) but I always have to tell myself that it would be a waste of money because I would never go that fast....especially here in Colorado...our interstates suck ass and are EXTREMELY rough.

BTW: 2.2 Ecotec or 3400 V6?
