Little Startup trouble

On my '83 Rx-7, recently i've been having some startup trouble, when the engine is cool. The engine will crank, start up , hit 1,000 rpm then just stall. Though, after running startup with the choke, and after the engine is completely warmed up its totally fine starting up normally. I have a feeling that maybe a sparkplug may be faulty 9or at the end of its life, though im not completely sure, which is why im posting, does any other first gen owners understand any complexities of this situation? Thanks for the help guys.

First check for vac leaks, then I would check the timing.......... also should change the plugs anyways = good matiaince
