It says July Restock, so it looks like they haven't received any yet. Even if they are sold out, I'm sure there'll be plenty more on the way, don't forget Tamiya have got the cost of some very expensive tooling to cover ;)
Cheers

Damn, the read window (engine) is decal.. Which mean you better made this kit silver of it will look strange. (I know the Carrera GT is only made in Silver, but still, it's a model. I would definitly like to made it an other color)
I will wait for a detail set with real mesh for this.

Acu-stion is producing a mesh insert for this area.
http://www.acustion.com/top7.html
It' doesn't only come in silver.
The Porsche website lets you create it in Silver, Red, Black, Grey and Yellow.

Acustion stuff is good but SO overpriced. I'll probably have to wait for the SMS kit.

I agree
I don't understand any word, but it seem it will cost 1900Y only for the rear mesh !

I agree it is high dollar. But cheaper and less aggrivating than shaping the mesh yourself.
The Acu-stion stuff will be out in August of this year.
SMS will surprise me if they release anything for this car by August 2005. :)

Thats probably when I'll get round to actually making it ;) However I might just buy the PE set and mesh if the wait is too long. I bought both the Acustion and SMS etched sets for the Enzo and used bits of both of them. I might do the same for the Carrera.
Cheers

Don't get abused by a Flash animation! It's impressive, but has its limits!
Pics of actual cars seen in magazines show that the rear grids (engine window + what seems an air exit under the rear wing) are ALWAYS silver color (or alu, as you like...), even with a red car!
Factory made, the rear engine window should be aluminium colored !
But if you have the money to buy such a toy, I'm sure you can afford yourself a little extra, and choose your own specs for exterior, interior, and even grids colors! Concerning painting job, there's nothing money can't do! So feel free to paint your model the way you like, as the Tamiya notice would surely say! (well, for the model, no possible choice: the engine roof grids are decals... :disappoin )
:2cents: ($$ would be better, I know, Mr Acustion...)

I think the silver engine mesh would look good on almost any color body. I would still like an actual mesh there instead of a decal on a clear part. I see Tamiya is making painting easier by having 3-piece door panels and casting the brake calipers separate from the disks. Tamiya +1.

Hummm, even at 1900 yen, the pre-pressed mesh engine cover is hard to pass. I wonder if SMS will make one, too.
