automatic transmissions

Hi new to the forum, old to the Trooper. I have to replace my '95 S 5 speed. Anyone have any comments or experience with auto transmisson issues in these trucks? I am considering a '98 and wondering how long they last. This truck has 137k on it, but mine now is at 150k running strong on the original motor and clutch!

Aside from the oil consumption quirk I have found this vehicle to be the most problem free vehicle I have owned.
