Fuel Gage Broken

I have a 1997 Chevy Cavalier that the fuel gage suddenly stopped working. Anybody have an idea how much it will cost to repair? Any simple solutions besides taking to a mechanic?

Could be the sending unit, not usually very cheap. are the rest of the gauges working?

Yes, all other gages are working.

I had the same thing happen last week. It works when you put gas in it but seems to be sticking around the half tank mark
