please help!!

Ok i just bought a set of used rims in excellent condition with only a few knicks in them. I went today to have them installed today. They were put on by monro. They were balcanced, then put on my car. When the guy was puttin the lugs on i noticed that he wasn't going in a star pattern. I mentioned it to him and he said it didn't matter, but i think it does. What are the effects of doing that? Anyone help me out. Also i saw by a member here who has a sunfire with motegi white rims(wild weasle) on j-body.org i think it was...he has a help page and i saw on there he mentiond somthing about a hub ring? What the deal on this? Will that take away the wobble?....PLZ HELP!!

I don't know about the guy's car that you are talking about but as for the wheels I don't think it is absolutely necessary that the lug nuts be put on in a star pattern. It is usually best to tighten them in this fashion and if you are going to torque them into place the star pattern is the best way to evenly distribute the torque on the wheel. Most of the shops I know don't put wheels on using the star pattern for times sake but others do. If you are worried about your new wheels, get a lug wrench and a torque wrench loosen the wheels and retorque them correctly.

When you do not tighten them in a star pattern it has a tendancey to Warp the rotors, which then causes a pedal vibration when braking. Acording to GM it is Necessary to do this everytime.
