D-tec

at work today, i was working on a 01 daewoo leganza. and the motor is called a D-TEC. what a f-ing honda ripoff.

just wanted to share with people who'd share my anger with that.

the ford focus has a zetec. It seems that other car companies are trying to run with the popularity of the "....tec" engines. Although, none compare.

its funny cuz when other companies spoof the vtec name, they fail to realize that vtec actually stands for something.

toyota uses vvti. It actually sounded like v-tec when someone is flooring it on there celica.

but at least toyota named their technology after what it actually does.

VVTL-i = Variable Valve Timing and Lift 'intelligence'

mitsu has Mi-vec, chevy has ECO-tec can't think of any others. Varible valve timing has been around long before the word vtec came into play. I think they were on old racin ferraris

well variable valve timing is basically incorporated into every vehicle these days, its the lift control that not all cars have.

regardless of what tec there is noones sounds better than v-tec

Heard an BMW M3 spinning at 8000 rpms on the VANOS system, sounds pretty cool to me!
