can anyone tell me if there is a good light bulb brand out there. I like the aftermarket look of Blue HID wannabe. PIAA sell for like $60-$65 a pair! thats crazy! I bought some funky blue xenon filled ones with a Japanese name on them for 19.95 a pair but they lasted like 2 weeks and then blew out. Any recomendations?

I use Sylvanya Silverstars in my highss lows and fogs and they work great, but they don't have that blue tint you are probably looking for, they are around the same price as the PIAAs but they should be brighter because of the lower color temp (there is a full explination of all the lighting systems in the civic forum that includes why your crappy non brand name ones burned out so quick). I got mine for free by "liberaiting" them from wall mart, but I think they would have been worth the price for the lows.

I wish you had a pic man, what kind of hue do they shine? are they brighter than the crappy blue ones?

Actually I do have a few pics but they're not posted on the web, I think I'll go pop in one of the stock bulbs and leave the silverstar and have the pic for you all soon.

I wouldent reccomend getting them the way I did, unless you bring a small kinfe because you need to cut the whole back off of the box they come in to be able to pull out the plasstic backing. Seriously it's not that much. Here are the pics I jsut took (except one).

^ This is my car with the Silverstar lows on, it was kinda humid the day I took the pic so there are beams of light you can see, the fog's are stock.

^ This is the view from the car of the road, on the left is the yellow stock bulb, on the right is the silverstar, see how the grass on the right looks so vivid and the road looks so white? Thats what they're for!

^ This is what the pavement see's, look at how much bigger and more intense the silverstar is on the left!

^ This is what other drivers see, it's a bit off color, the glow has that blue hue that we all love but in reality it's more of an intense white. Check out the street lamp in the background, dosent it look like the stock bulb! Lol.

Hope this helps!

I'm a fan of liberating Piaa's but it seems they are always locked away in even more heavily gaurded cages

holly smokes! those silverstars look bad ass, thanks for the pics Thourun, I'll be getting them this weekend then. I cant imagine how much more bright the PIAA would be then, everyone proclames they are the shit but I had a pair and they did not look that bright (maybe mine where the extreme and not the super plasmas!) thanks again chief.
