Hi,
I have an 96 525i, just a general question on brake pad replacement. When you change the pads you are required to push the caliper back due to the thickness of the new pads, do you need to wind then back in a special way or can you just push them back?
I only ask because some other manufactures require you to have a special tool to wind the calipers back.
Better to know rather then making a expensive mistake.
Thanks in advance.
Sam.

yes you are all the way in so new pads will fit on discs. a C Clamp will work fine just remember to slowly push in caliper piston and open brake fluid resivor cap and remove some fluid if need so it will not overflow. Or you can by a tool at your local auto part store they are not that expensive around 10 dollars or more have it handy for next brake job on your car or other cars in your family
