Oil Burning

I just bought a 94 Accord with the stock non V-Tech F22. It is burning oil and I dont know why. The valve seals on my 87 are not leaking why the 94 ? Is this due to the former owner or just a common problem?

please clarify burning oil -- not sure if you see black/blue smoke out the exhaust or if you smell oil burning from an oil leak in the engine compartment.

just a tip...its VTEC not V-Tech :)
