possible european civic engine swaps

im a newbie,(yes its another B16A question) sure you wont want to fall over yourselves to answer this, but here it goes. in ireland there are still a lot of the 1988 to 91 hatchback and saloon dual carb'd civics ( and many 1600 dual carb'd teggys up to 1996 at least). I have always wondered if a B16A or any B16 could be slotted in to replace the common 1400 SOHC DUAL CARB D series engine. Now i know it wasnt fuel injected so the wiring will be drastically different, but do you guys know if it can or has been done, are engine mounts the same, gear linkages, etc. And while im at it, does the B16A actually slot straight into any civic even 1992 to 1995 models, which were mostly fuel injected DPFI OR MPFI.

I'd really like to know - settle some arguments in the pub!
