Radio problems Help!!

Ok, I have a 97 Galant. The FM radio stop working. Basically it will not pick up any FM stations. I changed it to AM and it does work on AM Stations although I'm not sure if all of them. But when on FM just get static. Once in a while it picks some signal on FM but then it's gone. It's weird. I have taken the radio out of the dash and reseated the antenna cable and check if there is anything disconnected but all looks normal. I checked the antenna rear cable by the trunk and that one looks ok too. If I disconnect the antenna cable I loose most AM stations so I know the antenna is working. Has the radio FM gone bad? Should I purchase another antenna? I’m not sure on this one any ideas out there?
