Just got my 240SX, 1989, got it for free, the way I like it! :iceslolan

My normal driving consists of shifting at 5,000rpms, going fast as possible. The other day I spot a leak, Coolant, so I get it checked out, the Radiator Hose needs to me replaced, I am afraid now that I got the engine to hot, and it might have damaged the block?!!!

What do you guys think?

What makes you think you damaged the block? And as long as you didn't drive hard without a radiator hose, I doubt you damaged the block.

i had a radiator hose problem too, had to drive about 15 minutes home, got it replaced, and nothing seems to be wrong performance wise.

as long as you drove it normally, it shouldn't be bad.

how long has it been leaking coolant?

It had been leaking for 3hrs max, until I saw the puddle. I came home from work and noticed + heard something leaking, thought it might be the air conditioning, but backed the car out of the garage and it was coolant! I then drove 10min to the best shop I know of to get it checked out, they said new hose, and thermostat + gasket. A whopping $325 labor charge for the thing, you can bet next time I will put the hose on it! :screwy:

The night it started leaking I drove it hard, like I always do, also noticed some steam/smoke coming out, worried me too!

Sorry to be this disrespectful, but dude you are an idiot, you got screwed with no vaseline, thats how bad!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You didn't need a new thermostat or gasket, I drove my FORD (it was a FORD) and my hose cracked, I drove it home, put on a new one and nothing was wrong.
