bleeding clutch

I just put in a new clutch and I disconnected the line that goes to the clutch slave cylinder so all the fluid ran out and the reservoir was empty. I filled it up and started bleeding from the clutch slave cylinder. The clutch pedal would stay to the floor when pushed, which I think is normal. When all the air is out, is it suppose to come back up on its own? I just pushed the pedal up and down a few times then it just came back up on its own and it seems to be fine. About how much brake fluid would I need to complete the bleeding process?

Each time you bleed the clutch you always have to check the fluid level. Make sure it doesn't go empty or you put more air back in the system.
