Le Mans number lamps

Hi!
Do you know those tiny lamps that light up the car numbers at the Le Mans 24 Hour race? Well, I collect diecast models of Le Mans in 1:43rd scale, and some of them lack those lamps. I tried to model them with Tamiya Putty, but I didn't like the result, mainly because they're so small in this scale and it becomes difficult to make them all alike for a particular car. Besides, they tend to fall off quite easily. Any suggestions would be welcome. Thanks!

Decals.

Yes, I thought of that; in fact, some model manufacturers do it with decals; but decals are flat, and I would like them to protrude a little, just like in the real cars. I also have tried to drop a little spot of thick silver paint, but this tends to spread out and spoil the whole thing. Anyway, thanks for your suggestion.

A lot of the Le Man cars, especially cars like the Audi R8, the number lamps are flush with the car with indiglow behing them.

You are absolutely right about modern cars, but in the sixties until mid-eighties cars did have prominent lamps, as can be seen in these 1970 Porsche 917K pictures:

Thanks again, Mike.
