Obd2->1 auto

Could anyone help me with the entire OBD1 automatic situation? I'm trying to comvert my Obd2 auto to an Obd1 auto. If I get an auto Obd1 ecu will everything run ok? I don't really know how many of the wires on the ECU are for the automatic transmission so I don't know how much extra wiring I'd have to do after all the basic engine wiring was done.

talk to the company where you bought the conversion kit from, they should be able to tell you if it will work and what needs to be changed

The conversion harness/jumper should work regardless your ecu being auto or manual. There is no difference between auto and manual ecu's as far as external wiring to the conversion harness.

Ahh, ok. So the tranny and the ecu don't really care about each other eh? I've also got an Awd car, The honda Crv, Does that make any difference?
I'm not really savvy on how the transmission shifts, so this will probably seem stupid but, If I get a different computer with a higher rev limit, will the transmission shift at the wrong place (Does it have some kind of max rpm built in?)

Hmm...We might be misunderstanding each other, so let me clarify again. If you have an auto tranny, get auto ecu; if you have a manual tranny, get a manual ecu.

What I was trying to say was, they will both hook up to the conversion harness, regardless of them being auto or manual.

Sorry for the late post. So you're saying that if I just get an ecu thats an OBD1 auto and an obd2-1 conversion harness, that it will all seemingly magically work like its supposed to? (After the chipping of course). I was just worried becuase I have wires going to my ecu where there are none on the harnes's; does it just not need all the wires anymore?
Is there any ecu I should prefer to get? Are there any that aren't gonna work? I see the 92-95 integra ecu's all over on ebay, but they have different names: Pr4, p75... does it matter?

Yup, Plug and Play.

I would imagine the reason for not all wires being completely used in the harness, is the switch in emissions control. There are things in OBD2 that were non-existant back in OBD1, hence no need for those OBD2 sections to be plugged in; Just make sure the harness is plugged in firmly and correctly I suppose.

And about the ECU's; I wouldn't plug anything to your CRV, that wasn't made for a CRV.

Assuming you're eventually going to put a vtec head on your crv, theres people out there who chip ecu's for crvtec's

I'm not worried about chipping the ecu to make the b20 run good, I can do that.
I think almost everyone uses a manual transmission when they do this swap, but since I'm not I want to make sure the tranny will work right. I can get it tuned, or tune it myself to make the motor run, but I want the car to move also...

Sorry for bringing this back up from the dead, but there is some serious mis-information going on. The normal ebay and other OBD2-1 conversion harnesses are for manual transmissions only. The additional auto functions are normally not included in all of these harnesses for a few reasons. If you run an auto obd1 integra ecu, the automatic controls are not internal to that ecu on the OBD1 side. They are run off a seperate OBD1 TCM. The TCM has wires that go directly to the OBD1 ECU. This application along with the Prelude/Accord applications all require the OBD1 auto ECU and TCM. The civics on the other hand have the auto controls inside the OBD1 ecu. There are additional wires that need to be ran from the OBD2 board to the OBD1 connector. This would either be from the B plug on OBD2a or the D plug on OBD2b.
