Rear end Whine

Just bought my 2000 Xterra SE, Love it, but didn't notice the annoying whine coming from the rear untill I got it on the highway.
I'm pretty sure it's the rear diff, has anybody else had this problem? Bought this one used, only has 25300 miles on it, I'm pretty sure the drivetrain is 60 or 60,000 on the warranty, should I head to the dealer with this one? Thanks!

:grinyes: Hey, just wanted to let you know that I took my X to the dealer and they took care of me. They had to replace the rear diff and also replaced the fuel sending unit because of a recall that I was totally unaware of. I didn't even buy my vehicle at this dealership, but they gave me great professional service. I went to this service facillity because I did purchase a little Nissan truck there in 1991 and the service was awesome back then too! I just wanted to give Nissan their props this time because I've been reading about some really bad experiences that others owners have had with warranty work and service.
I'm ready for a road trip now, maybe some camping at the beach.
Thanks

Good to hear. That rear whine has been around for a long time with some owners.

A good service department is good to have. Next time bring 'em some donuts or a couple of pizzas, and you'll always be taken care of. Service guys remember that stuff. :D

All you generally hear of are the "bad" experiences which can make things seem bad in general, but the vast majority of them are good. People just don't often post about the good stuff.
