I recently had the Oil changed in my 88 Nova... its an old beater that I got from a friend (250k miles on this bad boy). But after I had the oil changed, the engine would putter out and die in the middle of the road if I wasn't giving it gas. And it wasnt doing this prior to the oil change. So now I'm trying to figure out whats going on, I had some people tell me to check the vaccuum hoses, and that it may be something with the fuel filter. What would you tell me?
Thanks in advance!
Thanks in advance!

First, you are in the wrong forum.
Then a question, did you look at the vacuum lines, is the fuel pump working properly? Is the fuel filter clogged? Is there any blockage in the carb idle circuits? Water in the gas line?
The way to fix things is to eliminate all the variables. And look for the obvious things first. Your car has 250,000 miles, it could be coincidental.
Changing the oil shouldn't have any effect on the car idling, (unless they didn't put any oil back in).

check ur choke on the carb. i know my dad had this problem with his 71 chevell and all he did was open the choke a lil bit and it was totally fine , this was temporary until we got a new carb for it.
