Well i've changed out my oil pump and still no oil pressure. So my next thing would be to find the sending unit. I haven't had a chance to look for it yet cause of my work schedule so if some one knows where to find it to save me a little work it would help me out. does the roller lifters in the LT1 tap like regular lifters when not getting enough oil? My motor has no strange noises in it when it is cranked up so I think its getting oil but I do not want to do any thing until I get pressure on the guage. Any other advise would help out also. thanks.

dont know about the eighters but the unit on the 3.4 is on the drivers side, directly below the exhaust manifold. it sticks out the side and has a single wire harness running to it. mine was pretty easy to get to, you will prolly want to get to it from under the car since you have the LT1, if its in the same place...

Anyway still don't have time to mess with it yet but I climbed underneith it before work and on my 95 Z28 it is on the passenger side on the block right above the pan. anyway I'm going to change it out and see what happens when I get off these night on thurs.

i thought they were on the back of the block right below the intake manifold

They use to be right beside the distribator on the drivers side but when i called the dealership they told me it was above the oil filter on a 95-97. I looked and there is nothing there. So I looked at the passenger side of the block and it is close to the back right above the pan.

Yep it was right behind the intake manifold and hard as hell to get to. Some how the other one was broke where the plastic part connects to the metal part. Cranked the car up and oil pressure shot to 70 psi. I guess thats probably what the pressure has always been but with the broke sending unit it read about 20 psi or lower all the time. My advise to anyone that needs to change an oil pump is to take it to a shop cause it took about 2 days by myself. And as far as changing the pressure switch on the back of the motor buy the special socket that fits it and it will only take about 5 mins. Oh and always check the switch first before changing the pump. This will save you alot of time and busted nuckles.
