Help Mah!!!

i'm going to have best buy/circuit city install it, but i'm lost on the amp, what's a good amp for those to speakers, that won't leave me underpowered but is easy on the wallet?? Thnx... to anybody who helps out and know about car audio!

i just sold my 600 watt amp for 80 bucks....

id got with either a 500 or 600 watt amp. im nota MTX guy. Everything I own is either Rockford Fosgate or Alpine.

and i would prefer to stay with the same manufacturer on the subs and amp, but if there is something out there way better in price and has a better performance rating i'd love to hear about it!

go witha 500w rockford. thats what i got in my truck. they have bass knobs that you can run to wherever you want from where the amp is. i use it when the cops drive past me i turn the bass way down on the knob. Rockford is the only company that i know of who makes that

its nice tho cause u can adjust the bass with a knob instead of messin around with your head unit or your amp. its good for if ur like listenin to rap or sumtin then all of a sudden u want rock...u can adjust the bass.

yeah, should i go with a 2 channel amp 4 channel or mono, because crutchfield said a 2 channel can only do 2 speakers or a subwoofer, so i got all confused

also do you have the model number of the rockford?

i cant honestly recommend RF. their product is just inferior compared to other manufacturers. for the same price of an RF you could get an Alpine that puts out twice the power. MTX makes good amps, but they are pricey for what you get. not to shoot you down korndogg but in my own opion RF is garbage; stuff used to be good but not no more...

First thing is that these MTX are 4-ohm speakers. You need to match resistance so are you going to run the subs in 2-ohm, 4-ohm or 8-ohm configurations based on how you wire them?

This is step one in deciding what amp you want to use.

well i have an older rockford amp. i think pretty much all amps are around the same thing neway. you just pay more for different features and accessories.

the older RF stuff is pretty good. but ill tell you what, from my experience amps are not all the same. different companies charge different amounts for different outputs. i could try and count the different amps that all my friends have been in their cars since i got my alpine last summer. it was retailed for more than most other amps (i got it at an awsome deal) but it has been well worth it. just voicing my opinion is all...

im not saying that theyre all the same output. im sayin like a 500w rockford and a 500w alpine (just for example) are basically the same thing. its just the looks and features that you pay for. And im not totally rockford. thats just what i have in my truck cause i wanted to keep everything the same brand. i just put a 250w alpine amp and 2 Type S 6X9's in my Camaro.
