Hi, I have a JBL 180.2 amp, here's the manual:

Will 12 gauge speaker wire work on this amp?

not sure for that specific amp but the bigger the better in this case. it can never be too big. i would suggest at least 8 gauge.

8 gauge? for 180 watts? bigger isn't always better. With bigger wire, restinace goes up. Yes, that size wire is fine for speakers, but not for power and ground

if you got them money and plan to get a higher wattage amp, get a 4 guage. if not you can stick w/ 8 gauge.

i thought that wire is like a pipe with water going through it. if you have a small pipe then you will only be able to get a small amout of the water through. with a bigger pipe you will be able to get a whole lot more through. maybe i am just wrong though. when does resistance come in to play?
