99 Suburban - Dome light comes on

My dome light comes on sometimes even when the doors are all shut. It happens both when the vehicle is off and when I am driving. I can hear some kind of electrical click when it happens. I think it is the same sound that happens when I turn the key on to start it. I gave up and have the dome override on all of the time to prevent this from happening. I think I saw a thread from someone with a similar problem when I was browsing.

Did anyone come up with a solution on how to fix this?

My 99 did the same thing. It was the head light switch. I repaced it easy. I also replaced the driver side door switch as someone said that might do it to. GM parts 89.00 for light switch and 5.00 for door switch. The headlight switch is r&r by removing the outer ring of the dash. It pops off. You dont think it dose but it works. The switch then just pops out and unplugs. Dave

Just thinking, try the door switch first and then if it does not work do the headlight switch. Dave
