I just bought a '97 accord lx coupe. I think i want to lower just to make it look a little cooler. I was also thinking about putting intake and exhaust on it, but since it is an automatic i don't want it to be all lame like. so my question is, what would you all out there suggest i do? if i lower it do i have to get new rims/tires? any help is appreciated.

It all depends on how much you want to lower it and what look you are going for. My car was lowered almost 3 inches and there is no way factory rims and tires would work.I ended up putting on 17s with 205/40s.

If you lower it you will also need to get it realigned as lowering it can severely affect the camber of your wheels. There is nothing wrong with putting an intake and exhaust on an auto...but it wont give you much in the way of performance...a few hp at the most. In what ways are you looking to improve/change your car? Performance, looks...do you wanna go fast or look fast, budget...these are questions you should ask yourself.

if you or anyone else has pictures of their car do you think you can send them to me or post a link? i want to know what it would look like before i lower it. Also, would i need to get coil overs or springs?

i'm looking to maybe make it a little quicker, but nothing too crazy like a turbo or anything. i'd probably be going for looks more, but all i would really want to do is lower it, no ground effects or anything like that, yet at least. i was thinking just lowering it and puttins some wheels on it. right now i'm focusing on the sound system. but nothing too major, just want a ride that i would like to get in every time i drive it.
