Licence free manufacturer Microcar has recently released a new model
called the MC-1. The MC-1 is the worlds first 4seat lightweight small saloon car weighing under 400kg. This is combined with the interior space of a Mini and with 505cc Common-Rail diesel producing 21hp capable of 70mph+ and 75mpg. MC-1 may be driven on a motorbike licence in the UK. There is also a long-wheelbase model exclusive to the UK which offers more room. This car looks like a credible rival to the Smart ForTwo all it needs is more power.

No, its only available in selected European markets. I would'nt think it would do very well in the US anyway.

Obviously you don't, but Americans make up a mere 4.6% of the worlds population, so roughly 6,000,000,000 people do give a fuck.

They may make up 1-in-20 of the world's human population...but they amount to 1-in-4 of the world's vehicle buyers...and a larger percentage of the world's vehicle owners (registered vehicles outnumber licensed drivers in the US).

So 3 out of 4 people dont care if it's sold in the US or not.
I think Ion had a very valid point in posting about a cheap, economical and quite underated car. Ok, it may not be to my tatse and obviously some others as we have seen but I think Fireball was out of order in being so rude. This is as Worldwide forum, not just an American one.

Oh, I'd prefer the Toyota Yaris as some models are capable of 80+ mpg

Dude that thing is wicked sick. I'm in the states and I think that would be sweet. Any prices on it and when it becomes available? Oh btw I'm a big fan of the classic mini and if we could have more abundant parts here in the states I'd have oen in a heart beat! OH also in the poll you might wanna put both I love the micro andsmart! I vote for both!

This car doesn´t make any sence to me, have u seen the price? it should cost about $4000 to start making sence, otherwise with the same money people prefers A little bigger VW Lupo or Yaris with 50hp, for example.
