Components of stock '96 Bose system?

Basically my question is as it states in the subject. I'm wondering what the components of the stock 1996 Maxima SE Bose system includes. Does it have a sub/amp combo stock? I'm very new to the stereo mods...I've never really researched that part of any car. Thanks in advance.

bose stereos are different. a typcial stereo amplifies the signal at the head-unit(deck) however a bose system amplifies it individually at each speaker, so each speaker has its own amp. if you want to change on of the components(head unit, new speakers, some subs) of the system you need a line output convertor, which makes it compatible.

Thanks for the reply. I heard that the 2000+ Bose systems recieved an 8" sub. I was wondering whether or not the '95-99 models got one too. Thank you for the info. I'm assuming that individual amps for ea. speaker help the car, right? Again thank you.

i have a stock 8" sub in mine, i'll have to look in my dad's 2000, but i think he has it. i had a 95 with bose too and it didn't have a stock sub. in our cars the sub sits where the rear speakers are in a 4th gen(95-99) with bose.

yeah...I was just wondering about that since I've heard of the 2002+ having the 8". Oh well, the stock bose is good for now even without that extra sub (except for that goddamn LCD display on the headunit). Thanks for the reply.
