you might want to put those spark plug wires below the valve covers. :grinno:

I am kinda perplexed by this engine...The headers are for a V6 engine. I know most chevys have the two center exhaust outlets close but there is usually two distinct pipes in the headers. Also your sparkplug wires should be below the valve covers. Spark plugs are in the head.

if you can clip off the stock fan
you should. most real blower motors
do not use a clutch fan as there is
not enough room

yep. Dump the clutch fan for an electric fan. Maybe 2 small fans found in the Camaro SS/Z28 or 1 big one like in various mustang kits by revell.

I looked at my 78 Firebird, and yea, it does look like it has V6 headers. Oh yeah, the 70's WS6 cars didnt use Chevy Engines. They used the 403 CID 6.6L Oldsmobile engine.

Why use the stock headers anyway with a blower like that? A nice set of long tubes would work.

If you look right above your exhaust headers, their are 4 verticle lines, those are where the plugs should be.

Bottom line; Make new exhaust pipes and rewire the ingnition wiring.

I have 2 questions:
Why is there one big and one small intake thing on top of the supercharger?
Shouldn't your belts be in flat black or semi-gloss, those look like gloss black belts?
I don't know just looked wierd to me.
Anyway this engine is awesome!

Yes, belts are painted gloss black. I have to go buy more paints :evillol:

Motor looks great. Those aren't v6 headers. Those are manifolds. The olds/pontiac/buick all where basically the same motor. The exhaust ports where two vertical rectangles right next to each other that dumped into the same pipe.

The motor looks nice. Wires are kinda properly placed, and the headers look like a BBC or S/BBF. Why did you do the hood chrome?

An effective way to lower it is to replace those truck-like Radial GTs, I hate those tires, makes the Hemi Cuda kit look like a 4x4!
I love 78 T/As and its looking really nice so far, watch yourself on the A pillars, one of mine snapped just like that...

Ok, so that ^ is black paint? Right... I think what you might have done is sprayed the car with Chrome, then sprayed black over it? I seriously don't believe for one second that pic shows a black painted hood. Feel free to correct me if I am wrong, because I am very confused.

Hape
08-12-2004, 01:43 PM
That is sprayed only black paint. And there is not enamel paint at all. Only black paint!! :smokin:

i think the he changed the hue and brightness in photoshop to show the shim=ne of the hood better. because i dont think that wierd blob in the bottom left hand corner should be there normally. It would also help to noe wut color the background was that he put his hood on... GREAT BUILD btw!!! i love yoru car!

There are alot of critics here in the forums!! You know what I have to say about that," you have to start somewhere, and their first builds were not the greatest ever!" Atleast you are building and your work will get better with more builds! Keep on building and remember, build to satisfy yourself, no one else!! Good build so far!!!
