I constantly manage to have problems with my 1994 Jeep cherokee, It was fine when I bought it but I have managed to have need of rescourecing this forum several times since beacuae of my need to impersonate Tim Allen. I recently attemtpted to install an after market radio and some how after correctyl hooking it up, during th3e installation of the holding bracket, I managed to fry the wire which operates the positive power which is controlled by the ignition. this purple wire with a white stripe also runs the cigerate lighter which I fopund out when I treyed to by pass it through the cigerate lighter. I traced the supposed wire back out through the fire walll and under the hood. it is connected to a little device bolted under the hood almost on top, with two bolts and three wires coming out of it one of which is the purple wire with white stripe. I cut it to see if it was getting power only to detirmine that when the key was half way cranked it got an extremly low amount of power. I spliced it back together and the enigen cranked fine, I ( for some dumb ass reason) Decided that it was a lack of suffecient power to the system that was cuasing my radio malfuntion, so I ran a wire straight from the + terminal post to the mystery purple wire and hence forth it wont start. It cranks but fails to combust. I am at a total loss. I checked all the fuses which are fine and am nbow at a total loss as to what the fuck I did and how to fix it. I just served a year in Iraq and don't have the patience for a problem I cant just shoot, please help me , I would grewatly appreciate it., I thing the myster device is something to do with the ignition , or distributao, hink thats what they are attached too.
