Hi to all,
I was at the gas station to get a fill-up and told the guy to put premium in the tank. So I'm sitting there and I look back at the pump and He's got regular pumping in and I yell "stop the pump dude". Anyway it was half full by the time I caught it, so I call the local chevy dealer service department and they say do not worry about it, but 10.1:1 comp ratio calls for 92 octane I believe, anyway the dealer recommended a octane booster like STP, so thats what I did. So far I have not heard any knocking but there seems to be lack of power. I really have to watch these attendants because they are so used to pumping regular gas. I live in Oregon and its State law you can not pump your own gas. Just something to be mindful for is why I'm posting this.

10:1 compression should run on pump gas fine.

you can run 87 in your engine. yes preimum is reccomended but, with 87 your computer will just pull timing to correct. Don't expect to be making the same HP.

Trust me this is fine. Hell according to Buick even my car could run on 87 octane. The computer just pulles massive ammounts of timing out.

Ya its nothing to worry about the computer will take care of it if you dont put in high octane. Just fill up with premium next time and everything will be back to normal.

Thats a wierd state law you have down there, ive never heard of anything like that.

I have lived in Oregon 17 years and we have had that law since I've been here, I think it is why we pay more at the pump also!
