hello i wanted to know how would i be able to turn off the air bag light off in my car i know a mitsu tech personally and he is saying disconnect the battery for 5 mins and if doesnt go away then there might be somthing wrong with the coils. i dubt simply this becuase nothing is wrong with it my ca has never been in accident. BUT someone stole it and tried to take it out of the dashboard without unscrewing it (idoits) and thats what flicked it on. anyway i know that with japenese cars it takes less time for the air bag capisitors to discharge some dump the info in less than 30 secs ( toyota) but with others it may take up to 30 mins. domestics on the other hand you cant that light to go off unless you goin in with a scanner and remove it. now heres my hang up.... i know are cars are american to a point because of chrysler/mitsu colab since the 70's but how much of it? is the computer american to? i know that nippon denso makes some of the stuff for our cars so not all of it is american.

If I were you I would check to make sure the connection is alright. If someone tried to pull it off without unscrewing it they might have damaged it. If you open the glove box and pop off the rubber stoppers on each side of the glove box your glove will just flop down. If you get in there and look it will expose the red airbag wires. Make sure that everything is alright and that it is still properly plugged in. If you look to your left of the opening of your glove box after you move it you will see that the red wires are connected with a green harness/clip make sure all your stuff there is alright too. I had a similar type of problem and I had to replace the airbag then it went away. Try unplugging the battery and the airbag for alittle while and then plug everything back in and see what happens. Let me know how it goes.....Good luck.

It could be the driver side air bag. Which side did they try to steal?
BTW LittleGS your airbag writeup came in handy when I painted it. Thanks :)
