hi buddies, I'm about to buy a 71 Chevelle from a friend's uncle. the car was parked for almost 8 years and he solding it by 950$.. the car paint is really rusted but all the body are complete and it have never been crashed... the engine is a 350 (don't know hp, or anything about it) and it has a broken motor mount. i already have the people to restore the body and make the paintjob, but i'm thinking now bout what i will put on the engine bay. I have a 350 Lt1, and want to make a 383 stroker. What do you think about the proyect?? what should i look for to be sure the car is 100% in good shape?? and do you know a site where i can buy the parts i'll need??
I'm in venezuela, and here is a little dificult to find parts for this car (body and performance parts)
I'll like to know your opinion and tips for my proyect

first thing go to a junk yard find an old '71 chevelle ss take the 454 and rebuild it yourself. this engine if done right could give you around 600 horses and a butt load more torque. then you got to get the ss454 emblems from the same chevelle or a different one. oh and that was a good buy

If you are in Venezuela it will be difficult for you to find parts. you can find parts online though. The price of the car is low, but thats also because it sounds like it is in bad shape. If you are willing and able to do work on the car, you should buy it. You should check the frame for any damage. You should also check to see how much damage the rust has done. If it is just surface rust, that can be fixed. If the rust has eaten through parts of the body you will have to replace that part.
