It was Saturday night, not friday (oops). I went to the Atlanta Dragway in Commerce, GA to race. The day started off as a car show in Braselton at a Year One event. The night turned to a burnout contest (which i did not enter in dier need of saving tires). The burnout contest was pretty nice. Lots of smoke floating around about a 1/2 acre of people. Most of the time you couldnt see the person in front of you. And for some reason the tires smelled like burnt clutch instead of tires (dont ask)........????
Anyway so everybody that was in the Year One event took a POLICE ESCORTED cruise up to the strip. It was awsome. The police held back traffic for everybody but then when we got on I-85 there was not one cop in site and a bunch of musclecars cruising the highway.
Me and a 60's model Mach1 Mustang were leading the 2nd pack of cars. A guy in a new WS6 Trans-Am was trying to toy with me but obviously i didnt race, knowing the outcome. I went through tech and my car wasnt actually supposed to race because of the battery being extremely loose, but a little bit of flirting overcame that with the 19 or so year old girl that was doing the tech. I got in the staging lanes before a good bit of people (i was number 59) and got ready.
For those of you who dont know........ i have a STOCK 1990 Mustang GT 5-speed. Well i say stock, it has a Flowmaster 2-chamber cat-back exhaust, and a K&N Filter (not the cone, the one that fits in the stock airbox). So its nothing outstanding, but it looks nice. Anyway so my first run (and actually my FIRST run ever) was as follows.
R/T.... .498
60'...... 2.285
330'.... 6.380
1/8..... 9.780
MPH.. 73.25
1000... 12.689
1/4...... 15.154
MPH.. 91.68
Unfortunely every other run after that was the same 15.1. Is that a decent run for this car? By the way the tires are 205/55/15's. Its all power w/dl/ect.

That sounds about right considering your 60 ft's. Get some gears, practice your launching, and low 14's will be sure to come. Nice run!

HiFlow, for every .1 off your 60' is that exactly .1 off your 1/4? I've heard some people say that .1 off your 60' means .2 off your 1/4. Is that true?

For every tenth you decrease your 60ft by, your E/T should reduce by 2 tenths. It's not always 100%, but it's a general rule of thumb, that's good to follow.

Every 100lbs should reduce your ET by about .1 as well.
