OK i'm in the somewhat priveleged position to have the mostfamily orientated car i drive my girlfriends v6 mivec FTO. My JDM mr2 turbo despite being almost standard is fortunate enough to ride on TRD lowered suspension (HARD). Yesterday a friend asked me to go and check out a car with him, which i was expecting to be something boring, we got there and i found out it was a subaru legacy (boring) it was only when i saw the badge on the back that i woke up a little AWD Turbo GT, ahh crap (this guy should not have this car) so just to make sure we pop the hood and there's the EJ20 engine complete with TURBO plastered across the WAIC atop the engine. the guy comes over "yeah it's pretty sporty, absolutely flies, the suspensions pretty hard though, too hard for me" he hadn't seen the FTO out the front then. Anyway so we take the car for a drive, i decided to check out this suspension i'd heard about... HARD MY ASS!!!!! i thought the car was going to ROLL!!! this thing is meant to be sporty? it's like driving a boat! now i remember another mates WRX had pretty crappy suspension (subaru build them that way) so i guess it's ok, nobody else seemed to think it was odd... and these things are meant to be able to do light off road so... but come on people! I've thought about it though, the FTO used to seem "sporty" and lately it's really comfortable und not as responsive as i'd like... Don't get me wrong i haven't always had cars like this i used to have a hilux (tacoma) which i would happily slide sideways round gravel roads, grass or mud... drift in the wet and put on two wheels over targa stages in the dry... am i now going to be too scared to drive it round town? am i biased? or is there just nothing like an MR2?

maybe he meant that the suspention was hard compared to something like a mercedes s500 or 7 series bmw or something like that... which it probably is... it all comes down to what you compare it too...

thats true, just about anything aftermarket compared to a stock suspension is gonna feel kinda soft. My old man has a S55 amg and for a heavy ass car like that it actually sticks pretty well( with the help of pirelli P zeros of course) but u take a S500 it probaly is soft, soft enough for a 45 year old ;)

its not really meant to be sporty subaru makes cars like the out back for cheapass daily drivers that are capable of not loosing control on gravel and rain etc. with a little more power that your average daily driver car for getting over obstacles. But your definetly right nothing handles like a mr2 expecially mine which has a racing suspension and falcon azenis very nice
