Blood pressure...

I started getting check ups this year after not seeing a doctor for 20+ years. I did the colonoscopy thing and they found some benign pollups (5 to be exact). I also had a blood workup and some numbers were high, so cut out most of the junk foods including a lot of bread, eat more vegetables, cut out the candies, etc. Many of the more important numbers are getting better so I feel good about that, BUT, at the first visit, my blood pressure was 140/80 which I found out was on the high side, although expected for my age group. I've tried to eat better, increased my workout routine, but my blood pressure numbers actually got worse. My doctor gave me some prescription blood pressure pills to take if the numbers get over 150/90. The only time the numbers are less than 140/80 are right after I wake up, but during the day, they are much higher, so I take the pills. Anyone else experience this?

Is there a doctor in the house?

My blood preassure has been a bit on the high side. I lost some weight and cutting back on the weight lifting and increased the cardio which has helped.

I'm 19 and at my last check-up my blood pressure was 130.... pretty high for someone my age. My doctor said its probrobly stress, so i tried relaxing while i'm awake for a couple min's each day. And the level went down to 115!

It might be stress, ever think of that?

BP.. Purchase yourself a cuff + gauge and just take your own pressure. If your pressure keeps rising, there is something that you need to change.

Good luck.
