Hi gang,
Started on this recently, got some pics today.....
One of America's finest, IMHO..TUFF, from the factory.
I hope to detail this one fairly well, I've practiced on the 68,...LOL
So far, the motor has received quite a bit of P/e, MCG distributor kit, pulley set and belt, fan set.The 850 cfm Holley is from Perrys Resin, as is the 12-Bolt rear end.
I had to fabricate the alternator bracket and bolted (pinned) it to the head, a bit tricky, but I think it looks ok..
The chassis will have the "open" look front rails boxed up, to look more realistic.I'll be running a fuel line from a tank mounted pump. Also hope to fit my first E-brake cables....
Colour will be..........
Anyway, enough rambling, here's the pics

yea dude i know that im not stupid, but the wire are too far down the wires need to be moved up more for the headers to go right under the valve covers, ur not supposed to have that much room between the valve cover and the exhaust headers. i know engine dude i work around them all the time

You all missed the fact that the valve cover (On the side pictured anyway) is on upside down. Big block chevy's have 7 valve cover bolts, 3 on the top and 4 on the bottom. That pic on that side shows 3 on the bottom.
Other then that it is INCREDIBLE!!

Thanks for the comments guys...
Tommycool666, yeah, its not a good angle to see the plug wires well enough, but there is sufficient space between each for the headers..
Going by my reference, the plugs are quite low, maybe an inch, inch and a half above where the head bolts to the block..
Orion37170, you mean the fuel fittings ? They are from "Modellers", if I'm correct.Got them through HLJ of Japan..
ONEBADMK8......doh......don't I feel like a d/head.....thanks for pointing that out mate, not paying enough attension. It has been fixed..LOL
More soon hopefully

just a suggestion, i would maybe paint the oil pan silver chrome by testors, it would give it a lil more detail and also taek a tooth pic and hit the tip of it in some silver and paint the bolts on the trans, that will give it even more detail , i would paint every bolt and alon with ur oil pan silver chrome.

Ok, another weekend, some more work completed...
As I will be fitting brake lines on this one, I added small brackets to the rear chassis rail, for the cable to go through. Also drilled a small hole in the front chassis for the E-brake cable to pass through, though you can not see it....
http://images6.fotki.com/v93/photos/6/63306/1144625/Chassisrear-vi.jpg?1090751499
Also fitted the little brake valve to the top left of the 12-bolt (from Perrys Resin-beautiful).Sorry about this crappy pic...
http://images6.fotki.com/v94/photos/6/63306/1144625/12Bolt3-vi.jpg?1090751480
Also tried my hand at a "factory overspray" on the chassis.Kinda tricky with a rattle can, but it looks ok.And now you have an idea on the colour.Interior will be black or white...??

Okay, only been slow progress here, mainly painting and detailing.
The body has recieved a couple of coats of metallic green, no clear as yet.I'll add the stripes before clearing.
http://images5.fotki.com/v80/photos/6/63306/1144625/body1-vi.jpg?1092572945
Managed to get the grill thinned without breaking it, that was fun..NOT.
Still have the hide-away headlights to add yet.

Also brushed on a bit more weathering under the chassis, little bit of brown/rust around some of the areas that usually build up, probly needs a bit more, I'll add some more later....

Hi, just a couple of better pics of the Yenko 69 Camaro.
I made up some coil springs for the front, and fitted some shocks as well, just small diam. rod, painted grey.Bit hard to see....
http://images5.fotki.com/v65/photos/6/63306/1144625/front-vi.jpg?1093957669
So, the front end is nearing completion. Will add the brakes and wheels once its all together...
Also, just a pic checking it's stance, gotta get the right look...
http://images5.fotki.com/v58/photos/6/63306/1144625/bodywheels2-vi.jpg?1093957942
Have also dragged the BM Corvette back out to do some more on it...
I've been waiting on decals for the stripes, seeing as I stuffed up trying to paint them on.....
It doesn't look too bad in the pics,..but, the curves on the rear deck are a real pain to get right....so, decals it is.Should have 'em on soon.
http://images6.fotki.com/v90/photos/6/63306/437002/bodywheelsmotor-vi.jpg?1093958243
http://images4.fotki.com/v40/photos/6/63306/437002/bodywheels-vi.jpg?1093949858
It's painted in Tam. Lt.Blue Metallic.I added the flared guards with strip plastic and putty.Wheels are from the kit, widened to suit, with some "old" BFG tyres. The motor has MCG dizzy and linkage detail on the gearbox.
More pics here....

Yeah, I'm on the far North Coast of N.S.W. I actually got this one direct from the U.S. some time back. They've been pretty rare out here, though I think Andy Douglas @ scaleautomobilia in Grafton has them. He does Mail orders....
If you need a link, let me know.....
Small progress yesterday/last night.....
Have changed to the stock grill (non-hideaway) Openned up from behind to show detail.

And completed the stock, non-chambered exhaust. I went to this extent 'cause all the reference I've found, including signing up to a Muscle Car Forum and talking to guys that know Yenko's backwards....
everything says they come with twin, unchambered exhausts....?????

Hey guys, thanks for following along....
robrex,
Yeah Mate, hope to make it up again, think you'll be at Grafton ?
DukeMan,
The trunk on the Yenko (Revell) is molded closed. I have opened a couple on 69 and 70 Camaro's though...
99civichic,
Yeah, I was really unsure about the underside...Seems different reference pics will give varying points of view....Some black, some undercoat and some red-oxide....??? Maybe different factories...???
Some progress has been made.....
I fit it all together, to see if any adjustments were needed. The final wheel choice is on. Just needs a rub and polish, finish the interior, and slap it all together.....

robrex,
Yeah Mate, hope to make it up again, think you'll be at Grafton ?
DukeMan,
The trunk on the Yenko (Revell) is molded closed.

[QUOTE=ONEBADMK8]You all missed the fact that the valve cover (On the side pictured anyway) is on upside down. Big block chevy's have 7 valve cover bolts, 3 on the top and 4 on the bottom. That pic on that side shows 3 on the bottom.
Thats what happen when you live down under where every thing is upside down
nice engine stump can't wait to see the finished project

Thanks Mate, it's Tamita mettalic green...wasn't sure I liked it at the start, but I'm pleased with it now.....
Okay, had her over at the motor trimmers, finishing off all the interior bits. Fitted all new gauges (MCG p/e with plastic faces = kool....hard to see though, I'll get a better shot later)
http://images8.fotki.com/v160/photos/6/63306/1144625/interior2-vi.jpg?1110113938
Also re-wired the battery while the boys were doing electrical work...
http://images7.fotki.com/v158/photos/6/63306/1144625/Battery-vi.jpg?1110113910
And we got in and completed the 12-bolt. Added the rear wheels and ran new brake lines. Will also have new e-brake fitted cables when it gets bolted in....

With any luck (being on holidays an' all) she may be ready for a squirt around the block by tomorrow....
