shifter loose feeling

My stock shifter is very loose. When it is gear, it wiggles side to side alot. It feels like crap. Is there anyway I can fix this.

anyone? I know the linkage is inside the transmission, but is there anything I can do.

When the shifter has a lot of play side to side or front to back when in gear, there are two rubber bushings i believe that fit between the lower arm of the shifter and the transmission, By replacing these the "loose shifter" feel can be fixed I think..

ok thanks, I wasn't sure if there were any bushings because none were mentioned in my manual.
