Cool pic thanks, added to reference archives :)
Regards a reference picture forum, it took us 8 months to get the Motorsports folder created so it might be a while :sly: The idea has definitely been discussed amongst the moderators. In any event maybe a seperate forum is not absolutely required. We could look into making a sticky thread organizing references and links, something like the way the FAQ works...

Great pic, that's what I'm working on at the moment.
Anybody have anymore of this car? I have had no real joy so far in finding more 'technical' pics (Doing clear view so the more the better).

Great Pics !!!
The idea of a reference picture thread is great! Trying to find reference pics of the FW24 is really difficult so it makes sense to share what our hard spent research hours has revealed. After all, that gives us more time to actually make the models which this forum is all about.

what are the ACK and DRINK buttons for? I'd imagine the drink being a water feed, but how would it stay cold? Cool Pics!

Surprising how different the buttons are placed, you'd think that would tend to be consistant and not confuse the drivers.
Also, how are the rotors made? Are they turned, or cast? I have no idea how they work with those carbon ceramic sort of materials.

The discs are made of silicon ceramic mixed with carbon fiber. To
manufacture the discs you mix in carbon fibers, a special resin and
carbon powder. With this mixture it fills special molds under pressure
which are then baked for some time at 1,000 C°. Then the disc is
machined and then mixed with liquid silicon and baked again at 1,500 C°.
The silicon reacts with the carbon to form the ceramic.
there is a chemical reaction between the silicon and the carbon powder so the fibers provide structural strength without making the disc fragile. There is then a final machining with tools of similar strength to those used to work on diamonds.
