Ciggarette smoke

Ok, I don't mind smokers, but they're all fucking hypocrits.
My mum, for example.
Right now, as I'm writing this, has all the windows, and doors closed (it's windy out side) and is sitting down watching TV and smoking. The computer is in the same room as the TV, so, naturally, I have to put up with it.
It smells like shit people!!!!!!!! Do you not have the fucking decency to at least do it somewhere else? Bloody hell, if you want to pump your lungs full of that shit, FINE, do it somewhere else you inconsiderate lump of shit!
I have to put up with my mums 2nd hand tar smoke all the fucking time, and when I tell her to fuck off, she says "I can smoke if I want to". Yes, you can, just don't do it around me. I'm the one who'll get the breathing problems because of your fucking bad habit.
I am 18, I can NOT have a fucking beer in peace without my mum saying something against it like "WHY ARE YOU DRINKING?!?! DON'T DRINK!!1! STOP DRINKING!!! PUT THAT AWAY!!!!1" *The 1's were on purpose*
*edited in* When ever I go out to the pub, or to a party, I get the SAME FUCKING LECTURE: "Don't get drunk!" "Don't smoke!" "Don't drink drive!" Shut up, asshole, stop smoking and MAYBE I'll start listening to what you have to say. Maybe I would respect my mother more if she started listening to what I have to say, rather than tell me what the hell to do, and do what ever she wants. Control me once, fool on you, Control me twice, fool on me. *Edit over*
Yeah? FUCK YOU! Whats worse, me drinking alcohol that will be gone in 10 minutes, or your smoke that will fill my fucking lungs up for LIFE?!
My whole like, they're been telling me "don't you ever smoke"
That hypocite smokes TWO packs a day! (Beasie boys, hehe)
All my friends are the same. I kindly asked Josh, an Ex-mate to not smoke in my dad's car. Did he smoke in my dad's car after I asked him not to? YES, at a rate of 2 an hour. And who's coping the shit? I am, Dad won't let me drive his car again because of the inconsiderate fuckhead I called a friend, Josh.
I went to school with about 1000 other people, out of those 1000, over 400 were smokers. WHY?
Are you cool or what? You're uber-tastic! You have all the friends because you smoke. I don't understand, you all recon you can "give it up", "I'm not addicted" Yes you are, asshole, you just don't want to admit it, jerk off.
My ex-mate josh said in January "I can quit right now if I wanted to" I said "well, do it". It took 2 months for him to kick the habit. How long did it last? 2 days. Now he complains he can't afford anything, but gets a load for 10.5 grand to buy a shit car, spends all his money on pot, smoke's and beer. DICKHEAD. Then he gets a 500 speeding fine, and who does he come begging for money? All his mates, and me. I don't give him shit, he already owes me 20 bucks.
My ex has been smoking since she was 9 years old. Why? I don't know. But it was disgusting, it was like kissing a fucking burnt tree log. When ever I went to her place to pick her up, she'd be like "yeah, get here about 6" we left at 7 because "I just want to finish this packet, then I can buy more".
A funny thing I've noticed, all my ex-mates are dole bludgers who don't have jobs, smoke pot, ciggarettes, and drink alcohol, are the one's who complain they don't have money.
Back to Mum. She is ALWAYS crying that she: "I have no money!" "I can't afford it!" Yeah, well, the 300 a week you're paying to give me lung problems, fill the house up with smoke, and kill your self is an expence you can do with out. When the bush fire's hit a few years ago, the house was filled with smoke from the fires, and mum was like "we need to get rid of it" I couldn't stop laughing, I FUCKING LIVE WITH A BUSHFIRE! There is absolutely NO differance in the smell of a bushfire, and ciggarette smoke, the only differance is chemical composition. And it's healthyer to breathe the fire from wood, than the smoke coming from her smoke's.`
Mum bullshits too, she says the same, old, cliche bullshit "I can quit if I want to" No, you can't mum.
They think they "need" a ciggarette. What a load of crap. No one "needs" a ciggarette.
You "Need" food and water to survive. You "Need" money. You "need an education.
You "want" a ciggarette. "NO I DON'T! I NEED IT!"
Shut up, asshole. I don't need a ciggarette, and I don't WANT one either.
She's smoking, still, you can see the fucking smoke just levitating all around the room. It's disgusting. I have the air purifier sitting a foot away from me to clear that shit out.
I don't have a problem with people who want to smoke, I have a problem with the fact that they do it around me when they know I don't like it.
Why don't you go out side? Asshole? not only are you pissing me off, you're spreading that shit all over the house so every living organism has to put up with your foul habit?
"Fuck you David! I will smoke inside if I want to!"
Fine. But when you're dying of lung cancer, and are breating out of a hole in your neck, do NOT talk to me.
And another thing, if you ARE breathing out of a hole in your neck, I'd think about quiting.
On a quick note, to clear up the 'hypocite' comment, they not ALL hypocrite's, just the one's I know.
All my mates who smoke where the "I'll never smoke" How ironic the fact that you can't stop!. Mum tells me to never smoke, I don't want to, it's disgusting. And a waste of money.
My singer smokes, he's always complaining of a sore thoat. Hmm, I won't even go there. Idiot.
Most of my old high-school teachers smoke, they kept telling us to not smoke, not because it was illegal, but because its "bad for you", they're the one's who stink more than the kids.
Smoking stinks, it tastes like shit. I know, I have smoked before, and I hated it. I don't understand why my own mother has to do it around me.
Can you not read asshole? It says on the packet "smoking harms other people" not because it's the law, but BECAUSE IT'S FUCKING TRUE. Jackass, now take your stinking ass outside, and don't come back
You know, I fart inside, and it smells bad, guess who the fuck tell me to go out side next time I fart? MUM! I fart around all my friends, and proudly admit it, they all say "go outside! You stink!" Yeah, well, your fucking habits stick 24/7, you fucking hypocrite, YOU go outside, when you start to apreaciate my right to breathe non-fucked-up-air, i'll go out side to fart.
I do NOT want to offend anyone here, your smoke doesn't bother me (you have to be retarded to figure that one out! haha).
Just venting my rage on the stickers of the world.
For those who smoke out side, I applaud you, at least you have the decency to understand what we have to go through evertime you light up.
Some non-smokers don't mind, Well I do.
Rant over.

I am a smoker. Generally, I smopke outside. The only exceptions is if everyone inside is either a smoker or genuinely doesn't mind. Or, at a pub or a club where any non smoker can reasonably assume it will be filled with cigarette smoke anyway. I even take film canisters if I'm going to the snow/beach so I don't pollute the environment with the butts. But you are correct, the majority of smokers don't care.

i agree completely...
with your friend josh, you should have just threw him out of the car...or took his cigs from him...
as for your mom...that sucks man...maybe you should try to open the window or door, just to help her get a message...that sucks that she wont go outside...
smokings bad.:smokin: <<<ughh..

I made a quick edit near the beer comment earlyer in the post.
Oz, If I'm in a room full of smokers, or at a party, I generally put up with it on my behalf, or go out side or what ever. But I have a right at home, to not have to put up with it, and it upsets me. If I'm at the pub, I don't usually mind the smokers, I think because the rooms are so big, and high roofed, the smoke dosn't trail to me that much.
I'm glad some people understand :)
*ed* (I'm a big fan of editing, ha)
We were on a road trip at the time, a two day 8 hour per day trip up north, kicking him out of the car wasn't exactly an option. At one stage I had locked the windows (power windows :D) but he still lit up until I unlocked them. Needless to say, I never don't talk to him no more.
It was about a 40 degree's out side that day, I had the A/C on cold, it was awesome, then he'd wind the window down, and all the hot air came in. :(

Both of my parents smoked while I was growing up. Now my dad has quit (going on four months now) after being on the habit for 45 years. Believe me - I know what you are going through.
I did laugh at the "mum" in the write-up though. Don't hear that around here very often

"Whatever," said Chris as he blew another flawless smoke ring.
Just kidding, that's some seriously inconsiderate shit.
Good luck with mom. I say get the woman some patches. (It's harder to keep them lit [believe me, I know])

haha, patches, that's halarious! That's like trying to get a gorilla to memorise the alphabet :lol2:
Update on the smoke. I went to teh movies today with my mum and my brother. The entire trip to the movies (a good 20-30 minutes) she was smoking, she has the window down, but I can still smell that shit, which means, if I can still smell it, the window isn't doing it's job. Why am I constantly having to put up with second hand smoke in the car? I put my window down, that makes a little differance, however, the smoke now has to get past me to escape. Not fair :(
My Dad quit aaaaggeess ago. I can't remember when he was still smoking. But he doesn't live with us.

I'm in the process of moving to a new apartment because the guy downstairs is a fucking ridiculous chain-smoker. 6 in the morning, every morning, he lights up and smokes until 11-11:30. Comes right up through the floor- absolutely disgusting smell- No regard for anyone else in the building. When the landlord asked why I was moving, I told him...now the Human Chimney downstairs is angry with me. Turns out he was never supposed to smoke inside in the first place (was in his lease)! Boo-hoo, douchebag (guy downstairs, not thread starter)!! I used to smoke like a champion in college, so I know how it goes. I don't care if you smoke CRACK all day, as long as I'm not subjected to your crack fumes.

to get your mom to get a clue, wallpaper the house in anti-smoking ads and hide them everywhere. Under her bedsheets, put some in a pack of her cigarettes, rolled up like cigarettes. fill up a whole pack of cigarettes with rolled up anti-smoking ads  just be as annoying as humanly possible and when she asks you to stop say "go outside to smoke and I will"
it works, we pulled this bullshit with one of my friends dads. great entertainment, and it worked too!

I like all those ideas!
I have been trying to get my mum to quit for about 6 years, so has my dad, and my mum's parents, but she doesn't listen. It's like talking to a deaf person (no offence to them).
But I just came up with a really good idea.
She's making me pay 20 bucks a week board, and forces me to clean up my room all the time (which isn't bad, it's just the way I like it). From this day forth, I shalt not pay board, or clean thine room until she quits, or learns I hate that fucking shit, and does it out side.

Wow, I have it easy
I only make 100 a week, but I'm expecting to get more work so that'll hopefully double, maybe tripple
Out of that 100, 30 is petrol, 20 is food EASY at uni (shit's expensive), 20 board, that's 70 a week out. I have a 600 dollar car rego coming up, that's 600 I don't have.
Besides, I don't want my money wasted on mum's smoking habits.
She recons she "going to put it away for when you need it" yeah right, last time you told me that, I found out you were spending it on smokes. True story.
When I got my first job last year she made me pay 50 bucks a week (i was earning a lot more back then) and i found out the entire lot was paying for her smokes, then I refused to pay her, then that 50 bucks went to getting me wasted every week. Then uni started end of feb, and I stoped working, so I wasn't making teh $, so mum didn't make me pay her. Now I gotsa a part time job, she's making me pay it.
I already have been paying the price my whole life but inhaling that shit.
It's like when you drive past the local garbage tip and its stinks to the point where you have to breathe through your shirt, it's lke that but all the time, every day.

1. Your rego will be significantly more than $600. I betcha.
2. That's a fine line you're treading. Remember to respect her because she's still your Mum and your still living under her roof.

I smoke, but outside. I am hoping to quit soon, because the 20 laps of swimming plus 3 miles of walking everyday are starting to bug me.
I feel smokers should rerspect those of that do not.
I always ask before I light, inorder to not offend anyone. Regardless, if I feel they are just an asshole in general.

my rego will be higher than 600!??!? DAMN! Man, not happy about that one. It's due in october, so I should have it by then. I was going to upgrade my computer real soon as well, but that idea's getting drained.
Chaser, if you ask before you light up, I thank you. Most smokers (some, not all) tend to just light up when ever they feel the "need". And it does bug us :)

Why don't you try eating less or brining food to uni with you? 20 dollars a week adds up fast.

damnit!
I pay 570 for a piece of paper! Damn money grubbing sonsofbitchs government :(
Cowboy, I do take food. I take a sandwitch, an apple and musely bar. It goes quickly.
In a normal week:
Mondays, fine
Tuesday's I buy beer ($3) and Nacho's ($5.50) That's $8.50 right there.
Thuesday's I eat all my food by 2 o'clock., I have a three hour practicle, which drains me. by 4:30 I'm starving something serious. So me and a mate go to red rooster, and I get a big meal there. That's 5 bucks easy. Or, I get food from the uni, which is just as bad, roughly, 5 bucks. That doesn't include drinks. With drinks, that's an extra 2-3 bucks.
So roughly, 20 bucks a week :( But I don't mind. It might be changing soon, My time table has gone all weird on me this term.

A pack of smokes costs 8-10 dollars here. I tried to quit but couldnt mustre it. However Id never smoke in a non smokers house and dont need to be told I have to smoke outside same goes in cars in my car I ask if they mind I smoke cus if they do I just wont. I try to use the golden rule. Do what youd have done to you so other is willing and within boundaries of the law in any setting or situation. That way you dont get even more bent over by the government. Eat crap Canadian Conservatives<---- just my opinion dont take it serious or to heart. But damn...... 10 bucks for smokes most taxes by the government. Maybe I should quit Health Care is expensive and getting worse. Times have changed , gotta rub elbows with Doctors and Lawyers to get a brake for future reference since were swaying towards a free for all government again. They would not allow me to vote because I moved to another city and didnt get my liscence renewed with my new adress. sorry for venting , 10 frikin bucks ouch

ah don't be sorry for venting, it was totally acceptable in this topic.
I don't buy smokes, but I think they cost roughly 10 bucks (AUD) a pack here.

same here. I haven't smoked in about a month - my Captain Black's ran out, and I have no intention of paying a ridiculous amount of money for the dried goatshite they have the nerve to call cigarettes.
The anti-smoking lobby is strong in this coutry, apparently they even passed a law forbidding it in company vehicles earlier this year ( although i fail to see how this can be enforced)

she's STILL DOING IT!
As I'm typing this, I she has closed all the windows (and this time, it's NOT windy outside) and she's smoking. She has the blinds (the flappy things covering the windows that block the sun out) partically open, and I can see the fine strands of "cancer stick" smoke floating around. It's like driving in fog. I can't see the T.V properly!
I got a way out of paying board. For the first half of the year, she was giving me 20 bucks a week for my train tickets down to uni, I'm not catching the train anymore, and she's not paying me that 20 bucks (I didn't have a job at teh time), so I said "there, that's my board there" and she didn't argue.

I was at my grandparents today for my Nan's 79th birthday. All the windows and doors closed, the curtains opend, sunshining through, mum's smoking. I could see it floating around everywhere AGAIN. Both grandparents are non-smokers.
And before dinner tonight about 20 minutes ago, I went to put a PREMIUM LIGHT in the fridge, and she's standing there and says "YOU'RE NOT GOING TO DRINK THAT ARE YOU?!?!" while lighting up another ciggarette.
...Excuse me? You're the one filling you're lungs up with tar, clogging your arteries, and straining your blood vessles, and you're lecturing ME on alcohol? Hypocrite!
By the way, the premium light (Hahn) is 0.8 standard drinks. I went away for a road trip in April, we left on the friday, I had been at uni all day, and hadn't eaten, plus I had band prac in the afternoon, the only food I've had ALL day was breakie at 6A.M, and an apple about 1pm. We get to where we're going at 9pm and I was STARVING, so I drank (haha) a 6pack of Hahn prem. Light. Not even tipsy! I could of legally driven. Mind you, a 6pack of what I normally drink is equivelant to a 12pack of this light shit. Which means, it would take 24bottles of beer to get me pissed off light, and she's bitching about me putting ONE in the fridge? :screwy:
Meanwhile, I have to breathe her smoke in :disappoin

and empty out all the panadols and fill them up with you know what!!
your other option, is too ..
Take up smoking. Sure it might kill you, make you smell and possibly give you yellow teeth but at least everything will be cruisy in the house..

I'm with you Davo.
This reminds me of a coworker who chainsmokes. He's only 30 or so but has a bad case of smoker-face. I met his pregnant wife and two sickly-looking kids at a department barbeque.
His wife sat there and smoked and smoked while telling us about all the misfortune that had befallen them.
Her oldest was born premature and small and has gotten pneumonia twice, requiring hospitalization. Her youngest has chronic RSV. Both are asthmatic. Meanwhile she sits there chainsmoking. Anyone see a connection here?? Poor kids. :(

I don't see a connection at all. A pregnant mother chain smoking around her two sick asthmatic kids, one of whom was born small and premature ...
What's wrong with people nowadays? They do stupid crap like that and wonder why their kids are sick and need to spend time in the hospital. I have asthma too and I know how it is around cigarette smoke, so I can imagine how much worse it is for them as kids. Also the fact that the wife is currently pregnant and smoking...geez! They just don't get it. If they want to smoke, whatever...but they definately should not be putting their kids' health in danger like that and also should not be pregnant while smoking.

Bloody hell, I went to get my new guitar on Saturday right, and after I was going to my grandpa's with mum and my brother to change my oil on the car, and I drove up in my car, and mum smoked the entire way to the shop. Although she had her window down, I could still smell it, and as I said earlyer, If I can smell it, the window isn't working. Please do not smoke in my car while I'm driving, you're making me nervous. :(
