They're not quick off the line, but from a roll they go like crazy. They have great top end power.

The 5.4's have a top out of about 145. From about 35mph up, they will sink you in the seat.

The Crown Vics are not, and never have been made with a 5.4L. While beginning with the '03s, the 5.4L will physically fit into the engine bay, they DO NOT use it.

Also, NO CV/GM/TC or Marauder has a factory top speed over about 132 MPH.

The Crown Vics of recent years have the 4.6L V8, not the 5.4L V8. I don't think they've had a 5.4 in them EVER; certainly not in the last 9 years anyway.

Ford has never made the decision to put the 5.4 l motor in the PD package. Just like they never would put the Mustange SVO engine in the older series. Personally, I think it's bad policy to stick to a production line motor in the police package. But since they don't have any REAL competition for a fast Police car,(and don't say Chevy or Chrysler, front wheel drive with V-6's will never be considered a REAL Police car) Maybe when Chryco comes out with it's fire breathing 5.9l V-8 rear wheel drive in a few years, you will see Ford actually start making a Police motor again, and probably not till then.
