hey whats up. im gonna get a set of crower 402 cam gears for my LS and will also be getting a set up adjustable cam gears. i dont want to get the AEM cam gears cuz they only have 3 screws holding it together so they might slip. i was looking for a set of cam gears that have 5 or more screws to hold the cam gear in like the Skunk2's. the skunk2's are pretty expensive but their good quality. i seen a set of OBX cam gears running for pretty cheap. they have 5 screws holding the gear in. i dont know if i should get em. i dont wanna buy some POS and put it in my car.... cuz u get what u pay for right?

just wondering if anyone has experience with these cam gears.... good or bad?

personally, i'd stick with AEM. OBX quality is not as good as AEM. I don't think the diff. between 3 screw and 5 has any sort of difference.

i've heard stories of the aem gears slipping because it only has 3 screws holding the gear in place. maybe i'll just save up and get the skunk2's.
but if anyone has the aem gears, do u have any problems with it slipping????

aem gears are good stuff. There's not actually much stress at all on cam gears and the only way they'll slip is if You forget to tighten them

It's possible for the cam gears to slip, but the chances are almost nil. If you're really concerned, get the Skunk2s. They actually cost less than the AEMs from what I've seen. I wouldn't get the OBXs if I were you.

Skunk2 is 6 bolt, not 5. Just thought you might want to know.

yea i know they have 6 bolts. did i say they had 5, if i did my fault.

i wanna get all the headwork done all at once(camshafts and cam gears. no valve springs, dont really need em with the crower 402's) along with a full timing belt and water pump change. then later down the line i'll put in a set of pistons.
