Now guys, if these little cars can't put a smile on your face, nothing will. These are the fun ones, the classics compact sports cars that were built to be entry level examples of the classic sports roadster.

MG Midget

1275cc Morris Mini OHV four producing 63bhp (same engine as a Mini Cooper)

So, which is your preference? Or did I leave out your fave?

the Frogeye, by quite a bit, the Spitfire looks like an Amphicar and the Midget, well MG's just aren't special any more IMHO.

They were all products of the BMC, so I'm guessing that differences between the cars are few and far between.

Does is like the MG1100? Or the MG Metro (R64 excluded) or the MG Montego? or (WORST OF ALL) the MG Mastero?

Sorry, but the MG badge has been tacked onto so many crap cars.

The MGA, MGB, MGC, MG TC/TD/TF, Midget, MGF and MG TF are all true MG's, as are the ZS, ZR and ZT (particuarly the ZT 260), but they have put out that much crap on top of those good cars, that the marque has been perverted.

I've gotta admit, the current MG Rover hot hatches and tuner sedans are kind of hard to swallow (especially with Ford power, blech).

But damned if the EX-257 doesn't make up for it all.

The SV-R isn't too bad either.

Still, the company needs to return to small inexpensive REAR WHEEL DRIVE sports cars instead of trying to beat the French/Japanese hot hatch invasion of England.
