1989 Isuzu Trooper Belt replacement help needed

I have a 2.6 4-Cyl 1989 Isuzu Trooper.
I am trying to replace the belts. I believe that removal of the fan is neccessary. There are four bolts that connect the water pump to the fan. Of course, they are on a pulley. Any suggestions for how to remove these bolts from the pulley? When I try to turn them, the pulley turns too.

I recently changed belts on my '96 3.1 td,i don't know if the set up is the same on yours,but i managed to slip the belts between the radiator and fan,then it was a case of slackening the tensioner on the pump housing,lining belts up on correct pulleys and re-tensioning

Make sure to replece the tensioner pully when you do the belt, there is a write up on this in a chilton manual that I have but I dont have it with me. I can look it up when I get home, dont move the camshaft around either when replacing the belt.
To get the bolts out of the fan, try using a air ratchet and wraping a shop towel around the blads and holding on or bracing it somewhere solid. I know that it is a pain trying not to bend up those fan blades. You could try some penetrating oil on the bolts too to soften em up. There is a industrial chemical they use in appliance repair that works great for that, I just cant remember the name of it. Also I'm assuming you have the radiator out for easir access.

I have the same engine and year Trooper and have just changed all the drive belts. They are difficult, becuase the belts I bought are really tight to slip on, but you can do it. Make sure you work from the block forward with each belt. Don't forget on the A/C drive belt you have to loosen the nut on the front of the compressor (20mm wrench I believe) then go under the vehicle to loosen the adjustment screw on the idler pully...it's about 4" long, adjust tension and then re-tighten the A/C pully nut on the front. The other adjustments are loosen nuts and pry to tighten...shouldn't have any problem with the rest. Good luck!
