'89 PA door issues

Hello.

I'm having issues with both doors on the passenger side of my park avenue, and I was just curious if anyone else has ever run into this.

From time to time I can not get either door to open. From playing around with it, I've discovered that the locks on these two doors are not unlocking fully. They're getting stuck somewhere along their range of motion. Where, I dont' know. Working the locks along with the handles will sometimes free it up and then I can open the doors, but this only lasts for a day or so, sometimes not even that long. I've lubricated the crap out of everything, but again if that works it only last for a day or so. Although they both work, I'm wondering if the power door lock acuators(sp?) could be malfunctioning and not letting the locks disengage completely.

Has anyone ever experienced this or have any ideas on how I could fix it? Other than this the car is in great shape mechanically and cosmetically, but these two issues make me want to get rid of it and I'd hate to have to do that because I like the car and enjoy driving it.

Thanks for any information.

Thanks for the reply.

Yes, I did take down both door panels. I have verticle door locks levers and I can't get them up all the way to unlock the door. They're getting stuck about halfway. I lubricated everything that has anything to do with the locks, and somethimes that will work for a while.
I was wondering if the power door lock actuators were going out and that's what's causing it?

I had this exact same problem, but it was on a Caravan. Intermittently, when I used the power door locks, I was unable to open the door with either the key or the power unlock. Eventually, the door would open by toggling the lock-unlock about 100 times. I put up with this annoyance without a clue to the cause for about 3 years before I happened to figure out what was happenning.
While it outwardly appearred that the door was perfectly aligned, it was ever so slightly off. I discovered that by applying pressure (pushing in on) to the top of the door while moving the key (or power unlock), the door would open normal.
I suspect the same cause in your case. The power lock is "ramming" a bar to lock the door and it gets jammed in position due to tension from the misaligned door.
You can try loosening up on the door hinge's mounting bolts a few turns, play around with the power locking till it don't jam and retighten the bolts.

Loosening up on the door hinge's may loose jam but may not solve the problem as bolt will start loosing its strength quickly, so think to do it other way seeing the condition of lock
