Hey guys... I would like to know any and everything that would make my Firebird engine sound better. I have the magnaflow exhaust setup and that sounds great but i would like to know what else i can do to make it sound better, not only drive better. I will get a k&n air intake soon.. does that make it sound better cause theres more air?
I was at the beach last night and there were all these imports down there and a few T/A's but i had to v6 firebird :( the T/A people were acting all stuck up and saying "does that have a hemi in it" and gay ass sh!t like that... that dont bother me but it does bother me when an eclipse pulls up next to me with a v4 and sounds alot better. I honestly think it would beat me in a race.... hell i was racing an ford escort zx2 or whatever and LOST!!! WTF? He has nitrous but still... i lost before he hit that switch lmao... WTF?
I know i need the following things....

K&N air intake or air filter
-- Whats the performance gains between the two?

New headers....
-- what gains? better sound?

And a hypertech chip...
-- what gains would i get from that?

Thanks alot guys and i hope that you all will actually post some stuff for me.. sometimes ill make a thread and get one reply and thats it... so thanks in advance for helping me out. :iceslolan

Anything that adds performance will change sound. If you build up your engine with performance mods it'll sound like it can perform. WTF you let an escort beat you? That ford piece of crap against your GM. You can't let it end like that, you have to defend the GM reputation.

The works, anything that will let you beat that stinkin escort. I'd personally start off with some headers and a cold air intake.

Here this might help you out and be cheaper in the long run instead of trying to build a v6. BUY A BUILT V8! I see 300 + hp 350's for 800 bucks all the time. Brand new. They are just long blocks but still. I'm not saying a 300hp 350 is built but its a start. What type of V6 you got? 2.8? 3.4? 3.8? I wasn't paying attention to what year your car was if you even said it or i would know what engine was in it. But think about it, let just for fun say you have the 2.8 liter, what is the hp around like 110? Putting headers and a cold air intake of that 2.8 isn't going to do much of anything it will add about 10 -15 hp total. So why don't you buy a 300hp or more V8 and you would have far more hp then you could ever get out of that 2.8. If you got a 400hp you would probably crap your pants if you are used to that 2.8 liter. I have a built 400 in my '69 firebird... no one wants to race me. I don't need to show off, people know i have the power, just from the sound and the way the cam lopes. I'm running just over 500hp in mine all natural aspiration.
