About the speakers...

Anyone know the size of the stock speakers in the 2001 (or similar year) Malibu?

front door 4"x6" rear deck 6"x9"

I want to get a pair of 6 1/2" component speakers for the front. Is there a way to put these speakers in the place where the 4" x 6" speakers are on the doors?

I would check to make sure you will have clearence when you put the window first. It may hti inside the door. I would check Crutchfield (www.crutchfield.com) they have a bunch of brackets that mount in a differenst size opening allowing you to vary the size speaker you want somewhat.

you can do that just get a speaker bucket cut a larger hole install the speaker bucket then install the speaker

warning you do need to make sure that you dont cut any wires when inlarging the hole be carefull
