Dodge Caravan gas smell

I have a 1998 Dodge Caravan FWD 3.0 V6 MPI with approx. 60,000 miles. I've noticed occasionallly a gas smell inside, doesn't happen all the time, but it bothers me. I read in one of the forums about a related recall regarding leakage from O-Rings? but it only applies to 3.3 & 3.8 engines. I also saw a recall about an after market fuel filter related recall--I called a local Dodge service dept. & set up an appt. but they called me back after checking my V.I.N. number & said there were no related recalls for my model, also searched the Dodge website with similar results.
Does anyone have any other ideas about this problem? Any feedback appreciated..thanks!

I would suggest a fuel rail o-ring check. They do sometimes go bad. Check the gas tank cap too. It may be bad.
It's better to have the fuel rail looked at as a fire would really ruin your day.
