I'm having an issue. I have a 98 Ford Ranger, 4WD, Manual Trans., hyraulic clutch, 4.0. Put new clutch in 2 years ago. I've noticed the past few days that it's becoming more and more complicated to put into 1st, 2nd and reverse. 3rd and 4th are usually pretty smooth. What's weird is that there was one day that it was perfectly normal. I've also checked the fluid. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I really really don't want to fork out the cash to replace the clutch again. Oh, it's got 101,000 miles. Thanx

I have a 94 ford ranger and I had problems with it shifting. I had trouble getting it into any gear. I finnally found out that I was low on hydraclic fluid. I filled up the resevior and pumped the heck out of the peddle. This problem persisited into ultimately my wife burning out the clutch. After I single handedly replace the clutch plate, throw out bearing and pressure plate, I still experience problems with shifting and it is always because of low hydralic fluid. I have never found where it was leaking from but it comes and goes. I know you said you checked your fluid levels but keep a close eye on them that was my problem.
