Hi, I would like to know what you guys would recomend for the following situation.
I have a 1989 firebird pro-am (its a formula in disguise) and I have a 305.
Before i re-built the heads my engine was running at 220 constantly.
Now with the new heads it runs about 180-200 in normal driving (30-50mph). However before the fan starts it will hit 220, and it will come down to 180. When I took it on the highway last night it went up to 230, so I am not sure if that is OK, or NOT.
So I have decided to maybe upgrade my radiator, and maybe get a fan that is always on? So for this I need your help, what kind of radiator, 3row or 4row, or should I keep my old one and have the fan on all the time? I have been bafled by these questions and I would like if you can help me out thanks!

Hi, i have a 1991 Pontiac Pro Am. I had the engine rebuilt, and it ran at about 220 for a while, then it finally started running cooler. I was worried, very worried, but it just started running cooler.

BTW: I would love to stay in contact with other pro am owners, exchange info and what not. If you wouldn't mind float me an email so we can stay in contact.

Depending on budget concerns, I would buy a 4 core aluminim radiator ($400 if you search right),or settle for 4 core iron a high flow water pump, and high flow thermostat if you don't already ($100), and a set of dual electric fans (about 200) prices are all from summit. If this doesn't do it or a combination of these and stock i don't know what will. total $ 500 to 700 for a cool performing bird. Should bring your form 230 to about 215 or so.

hi if you have air on it be sure that both fans are working ,if not your fan wont come on until 220.if the other fan isnt working its probably the pressure switch .this switch operates the second fan.all u have to do is put some freon in your system.jimmy

did you guys ever think of replacing your water pump. It droped my temp to 160-180 and its awsome. Everything else was replaced, but only an exact replacement. Water pump is a Bosch highflow heavy duty pump.
